The Temple Reminds Me

Because of the age changes at church, both my children had temple firsts this weekend.

Kenna was able to do baptisms for the first time.  She was very excited and January 1st she started asking me on a daily basis to help her find names on Family Search that she could take to the temple. She knew there was a Beehive Baptism trip scheduled for January.  Not wanting to steer her wrong and honestly, not having much time for it, I was a genius and took her down to the Family History library on a Friday morning when I knew my friend Erika was working a shift.  Erika has a sweet and patient way about her and she sat with Kenna for over an hour going over FamilySearch and helping Kenna get oriented.
And the righteous desire of Kenna's heart was answered.  She not only found some names to take, she found siblings that hadn't been entered into FamilySearch before!  Because of her research some Mama will have her babies sealed to her in the not too distant future.

A fire has been lit!  This little girl is pretty excited about Family History right now.
And really all things Young Women.

Now also because of age changes, Logan was ordained a priest the first Sunday in January.  Josh invited the Priest Quorum First Assistant - who is one of the Young Men in our ward - to ordain Logan.  Cayden came over to our house that evening and it was a sweet and precious moment to hear this not-quite 18 year old perform an ordinance for my son and see the love he showed to Logan.

The following Sunday Logan was able to bless the Sacrament.  And then the Saturday after that we attended the temple with two other families from our ward to do baptisms.  Logan was able to both be baptized and perform the ordinance.  I wish I could show you a picture of five little girls all dressed in white sitting in a row on the temple bench looking at the font.  All 14 or younger.  All excited to be in that holy place.  (And Logan, the lone male, which is the story of his life.)

Afterwards, Logan shared some special feelings he had during the confirmation process.   It was lovely to spend time with just these two in that holy place.
