Life Goes On

Image
I was encouraged to update the blog today.  So, I will.  How about a rundown of the kids first. Hannah finished several of her semester classes early.  She's started her next math class already - the one she's taking on the college campus (thus earning college credit for a semester of Alg II) with her cohorts.  She has started giving piano lessons to a friend of hers AND her little brother. Brynne has been working really hard in school as well.  She is rocking her reading by downing tons of books (and writing reports on them for extra credit at school).  She is still violining and I love to hear it.  She and Hannah are in choir and we enjoyed their recent concert. Logan is enjoying his piano lessons.  He almost never has to be reminded.  It was so cute to hear Hannah teaching him at his first lesson!  He's a social butterfly at school - lots of friends, busy, loves his teacher, manages to do pretty good on his schoolwork.  I personally think he could do better if he w

Cheese Whiz

The other day Natalie asked me if "cheese" was a bad word. Cheese? Yeah.  Like, "oh, cheese". (thinking) Oh!  You mean "geeze"! No.  "Cheese" is not a bad word.

One of those nights

Just a wee little vent. Kenna has a stomach bug.  She can't keep anything down right now. Josh has a cold. I feel a little achy, but for the most part I think I'm fighting off that cold. So last night Faith was up more than usual (I'm wondering if she isn't feeling well either), Josh needed to sleep off his cold (he was OUT).  Kenna needed me multiple times.  I had a lot on my mind, too, which was keeping me awake. Let's just say that sleep was a little hard to come by. Hoping for a better night tonight.  And a nap.  Definitely hoping for a nap today! In other news - I made two treats this weekend.  The white chocolate peppermint popcorn was amazing.   Cranberry-Orange sweet roll recipe that I found (on Pinterest, of course) were also super good.  Those were the final two Christmas foods that I ran out of time to make in December, so I had to squeeze them in before the kids went back to school.

Blessing Day

Faith was given a name and a blessing on December 28, 2013, at our home.  Her Templeman and Richardson grandparents were all present. Sweet Hannah.  Brynne captured a sweet sister moment on film. Three Generations Richardsons Templemans On December 31, Faith celebrated 5 weeks with us!   Laughing?  Crying?   Maybe a little of both?

Christmas Eve & Day

Image
There is nothing sweeter than a boy loving holding a baby.   He's going to be an awesome dad someday! Look at that hair.  She cut 10 inches off it a week later due to a  miscommunication with the person trimming her hair.   ; -) Christmas Eve reuben sandwich tradition.  Faith turned 4 weeks old on Christmas Eve day. The loose tooth that ended up coming out the next day! PJs from Grandma R. Stockings  Opening Presents

December - the first half

This picture made me laugh.  Usually the kids fight over Faith - and play with her when they get to hold her.  This was apparently not one of those times.  ;-) Our tree this year. Below: photos of Kenna's birthday! The new bike! The cake that Kenna designed and helped to bake.  Strawberry cake, whipped cream frosting, and Christmas sprinkles. Nice. Much better.
