photo-free. Just the updates

the last several posts have been mostly just a photo-dump.  It looks like we only take vacations but honestly I just never pull out the camera!  However, there are other fun things to share. First, in November Natalie entered an essay contest sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution and she found out in January that her essay won for Grants Pass.  She and Kenna MAY have been the only entries...although I'm not sure.  Still, she was pretty excited! Kenna was called as her Young Woman class president at the beginning of the year.  She's such a cute little planner.  She's always full of ideas and she really thinks about how to include all the girls and help them feel welcome.  It's been fun to watch her serve in this capacity and learn. This year Kenna has been attending orchestra at the middle school.  Starting in February she also began attending the next (and final) period.  That has been such a good thing for her.  She gets to walk from the school d

I guess two weeks in another state causes a husband to miss his wife.  This guy planned a little date getaway for after I got back.  So fun - Harry Potter #1 with a live orchestra! We try to get a little exercise every day.  I just love when these two get along! Brynne had her first transfers and is in a new city. I think they were the two new missionaries to the district So one crazy thing we did this month was a Disney cruise.  Since this was an Edward Jones trip called a 4x4 we were able to take the kids too (most trips we pay extra for kids).  It was a first cruise for all of us.  We mostly just hung out, ate, and read books.  We didn't even get off the ship at the first port. Pirate night! Calgon, take me away! Also as a bonus, some local EJ friends didn't use their one-day passes to Universal Studios and gifted them to us.  We tried out Hogsmeade and had lunch at the Three Broomsticks.

January warms my heart.

This is the short version.... One Tuesday - having only been home from Texas for 2.5 days, I got a call from Hannah telling me that she was apparently dilated and going to have a baby in the next couple days.    30 minutes later it was going to be THAT day. a few hours later it was a reality and Miss Nova Seraphina had joined our family.... ...and I became a Grandmother. I immediately started rescheduling my ENTIRE life and left the next morning with the three little girls in tow.  I got to Rexburg on Thursday and met Nova for the first time.   <LOVE> I am not the only one that loves her. Josh flew out towards the end of my stay so he could get some Grandpa time in too. You can see that Nova comes by her propensity to sleep honestly. ♡♡♡And because babies are the cutest... in no particular order, some more photos from my visit. Hannah is the best mom.  I want to be just like her someday.

December!!!!!! part 2

What else are big brothers for, if not to escort three cute girls to a tea party and Nutcracker performance?!  Still so grateful for my awesome son who does the nicest things with his sisters! Christmas games And Christmas jammies... Ummm, Hannah and Keaton took some beautiful photos.  My niece Victoria is the stellar photographer! This girl lost her first tooth and she was such a champ - let me pull it right out! The one where I accuse Josh of a potato chip fetish. The most fun blanket we've ever received as a Christmas gift.  :-) I just really love this girl...she's full of goodness.   12 years old and working so hard to do the right thing. End of December found us heading to Texas!  A first for everyone except Josh who I think has driven through there before.  Sarah has lived there for years and we really wanted to visit.  Galveston Ferry!
