Independence Day

Image
We did two fun things for the Fourth of July.  The kids participated in a triathlon that some friends host every year.  And we went to Central Point to watch the fireworks with our Richardson second cousins.  It worked out to be a really fun day for all!! We learned that Kenna is a rockstar swimmer!  She crushed it in the pool Natalie was steady and got a really good time in the biking Faith swam further than she ever has before! She was a good sport even with a stitch in her side Everyone’s a winner

Italy was incredible.   Part 1: New York (at the bottom) Part 2: one afternoon in Rome and a train to Florence We explored the streets and saw the coliseum, Trevi fountain (being cleaned so not functioning), the Rome temple, Vatican City and St Peter’s Basilica. We met up with Josh’s cousins for dinner there. Part 3:  three days in Florence We walked and walked.  Hiked to the top of the dome of the Duomo and learned so many fascinating things Ate gelato daily.  Fave flavors were cinnamon, pineapple-ginger, and all the rest except rum was a bust Bought leather jackets Visited the Uffizi gallery and Academia and saw David - amongst other impressive and magnificent sculptures and works of art Drove to San Marino - the oldest republic.  Super cool tower views Part 4:  two days in Rimini Church and rested Beach day and cooking class The final things was our travel home.  Our luggage got left behind in Amsterdam. Still waiting on that! The photos are in no particular order. Legit police car
