Christmas Bells and a quick December run down

 This Christmas was so lovely.  We missed the Sants but we know how important it is to do Christmas in your own home with your own little family.  There is something magical about creating your own traditions.

The beginning of December we celebrated this girl's 17th Birthday!!  We made her a Lychee flavored dragon cake...because we could.  ;-). Can't believe how grown up she is.  She's crushing life right now.





She's still working at In 'n Out and doing such a great job.  Loi and I enjoyed sneaking in to catch her at work!  Yes, I'd like my onions grilled!

For Christmas Day we had my parents down.  Grandpa Templeman recited the Innkeeper's Dream for us - and it was so fabulous.  I think it should be a tradition!


The kids found ways to entertain themselves while we waited for Christmas night!  I don't remember how this turned out but I do remember it was highly entertaining.





These next three photos of Faith and Jada were just from random days in December - they are such darling friends and love to do all the things together.  I loved this church photo because Jada came up to tell Faith something before the meeting started and they just gently touched each other's fingers.  So sweet.








What are we cooking?  I don't know - but I think this guy is pretty cute!




We played pickleball as a family and it was a blast - it's so fun to have big kids!






I honestly just cannot get enough of these cutie patooties!  When will we see you again?


I honestly took so few photos in December - it was a full month.   We had orchestra and choir concerts, parties and movies and all the good things.  I love having my family (as much as I can collect) home for Christmas.

I think I posted this photo on Facebook....can't wait until my girls are home and I can hear all about EFY!!!   I have missed them but know they are having a blast. My little girl loves her baths!  She's turned into a monster crawler, and this week learned to pull herself up to a standing position, so baby-proofing just went to the next level.  She loves to play with her siblings.  She follows them around while they enact their pretend plays and chews on things while she watches whatever they are doing.  She is darling and we love every second with this girl! Four days after scout camp, the scouts had the unique opportunity to earn their archeology merit badge.  They were able to participate in a real 'dig' a couple hours south and be taught by an archeologist about what they were looking for.  They found some Indian arrowheads and Logan was able to bring home some obsidian souvenirs.   Boys love dirt! Second family/Reunion/Anniversary

 After our first family visitors left we had a turnover day, and then the next family group started streaming in.  ;-)  We had some family stay with us and some had arranged their own housing.  We planned three days of activities.  One thing that I loved was having all my sisters together - that is a rare treat. Not too many photos from the anniversary picnic.  We had professional photos taken which will be coming in a few weeks.  It was crazy hot but we had a good time nonetheless. On Thursday the sisters packed up our kids and went to the redwoods and enjoyed the afternoon playing in the river at Jedediah Smith park.  We got lucky with the BEST weather. And that concluded our family reunion and anniversary celebration.

First Family

 Oh goodness - it's always a treat when we get Nathan and his family all to ourselves in Oregon.  It's a sacrifice for them to drive all the way out here in a busy summer.  This year they came so that Aves could attend FSY with Kenna and Natalie.  While the girls were gone, the rest of us played.  Faith had the week of her life.  Summer Camp at Miss Annie's with her cousins was a highlight. We also read books galore, ate treats, went to a baseball game and played and laughed hard together.
