June bugs part 1

 end of 8th grade....

Natalie got to participate in all the fun end of year activities:  the 8th grade dance, the color run, 8th grade promotion, the field trips.  She had a great week living it up with her good group of friends.

She didn't really have any academic classes at the middle school except a semester of science but she had so much fun in choir, band, library aide and P.E.  Plus at home she rocked her math curriculum (finishing her entire book), read SO many books for history, did a writing program with me.  She was super diligent with her piano practice and assignments and it was just so much fun to watch her develop into a responsible and dedicated girl!  off to high school in the fall!

Our stake had pioneer trek right after Father's Day.  We were able to join the girls for the first night.

My favorite thing was seeing what good attitudes the youth had about the entire experience.

It was chilly and very windy the first night but the kids were so positive.

Josh gave the fireside and they were so cold and ready to get into their sleeping bags, so he just turned the kids lose after cutting his planned remarks in half.  But it was good how it was so I'm sure they didn't notice.

The kids had a rest stop at Multnomah Falls and I had to laugh, wondering what the tourists though of the 100+ kids in pioneer era clothing - Mennonite convention?  FLDS?
