The doldrums

February was slow and cold.  Brynne went to AZ to run a half marathon with her friend.



In spite of the very  dry winter we did get a snow day!  Sort of.... barely.





But it still felt like this was the appropriate way to spend an evening...

I was so irritated on Sunday.  Stake Conference is this weekend and it was announced that our visiting GA was inviting all youth 12+ to the Saturday evening adult session. I immediately thought: "Thank you for un-inviting me , and many of my friends". Any mom in the stake with children until 12 probably won't be there.  Unless Grandma steps in. I vented my frustration to my poor husband.  He just assumed that I would take precedence over attending and one of our older girls would babysit.  I told him that's not how moms think -and most likely that other moms in the stake wouldn't be leaving their teens at home.  Plus, what about those moms who only have young children? You've just effectively taken away all their babysitters. He said that he did make this argument a month ago when the meeting was being discussed.  I guess he got outvoted. hot August nights

August was a blast!  Kenna was and HXP having the time of her life and learning so much about service and hard work.  She said the trip was "#worthit" when she got back and we loved hearing about her experiences there. The rest of us spent some time in Sunriver.  We had Hannah's family with us for a week and it was pure delight. We started playing Mulkky and it is such a fun game! The second half of the week was a Templeman family reunion and it was so fun to have all my sisters together and enjoy each other's company. Natalie and Faith came home (to join up with Kenna) with Logan and Jordan - and they were here for a week.  Josh and I stayed in Sunriver and Jason and Jasmin came out to join us.  We had a really relaxing fun week.  We ate lots of yummy food and took only one photo but it was because we were busy doing stuff.  When we got back it was pear picking season and time for school to start!  It was a bit of a whirlwind after that. September school days

 This has been such a busy month!  School started for Natalie on August 27th.   She is a junior this year.  ACK!  How did that happen so fast!  She is trying a new sport too - cross country.  Let's just  say that it wasn't her first choice and it was really hard for her when she first started.  But I am so proud of how hard she has been working.  She has practice five days a week and then a meet on Saturday, so it works out to be a long week.  In addition, she works two evenings a week after practice!  And she's got a super packed junior year class schedule.  She has survived the first three weeks of this and is about halfway through.  Three cheers for how hard she is working. Then on September 15th Kenna started her senior year of school - but all classes via BYU-Idaho concurrent enrollment.  She is taking 10 credits this semester and working 18 hours a week or so at In n Out.
