Just another Missionary Monday!

 January 2026 started off quiet - but there was one exciting thing that happened!  Kenna received her mission call on January 13, 2026!  

She opted not to have a big reading with people, but instead called each family group on their own and shared her call with them.  I think it made it pretty special for her to read it over and over and hear everyone's excitement and congratulations.












The other thing that happened though, before this even, is that Avery arrived from Saudi Arabia to spend a semester in the United States attending public high school.  I took very few pictures of her but here is one of her getting a tour of the high school



Also, birthday lunch for a friend - I'm so blessed to have so many wonderful and inspiring women in my life.

I took a trip to CA with my Dad for the memorial of his cousin.  While there we had dinner with the Smith's from Fort Bragg...



And drove by the house that my mom grew up in.  


I went to church in Cloverdale and saw dear friends!  Here I am with Betty Cooper.  She made my wedding veil 28 years before!



And we spent an afternoon with our cousins in Lakeport from the other side of the family.  All in all, a really cool trip.

I was so irritated on Sunday.  Stake Conference is this weekend and it was announced that our visiting GA was inviting all youth 12+ to the Saturday evening adult session. I immediately thought: "Thank you for un-inviting me , and many of my friends". Any mom in the stake with children until 12 probably won't be there.  Unless Grandma steps in. I vented my frustration to my poor husband.  He just assumed that I would take precedence over attending and one of our older girls would babysit.  I told him that's not how moms think -and most likely that other moms in the stake wouldn't be leaving their teens at home.  Plus, what about those moms who only have young children? You've just effectively taken away all their babysitters. He said that he did make this argument a month ago when the meeting was being discussed.  I guess he got outvoted. When these sorts of decisions come down - I have to say that it makes me grumpy.  Don't the people making...

hot August nights

August was a blast!  Kenna was and HXP having the time of her life and learning so much about service and hard work.  She said the trip was "#worthit" when she got back and we loved hearing about her experiences there. The rest of us spent some time in Sunriver.  We had Hannah's family with us for a week and it was pure delight. We started playing Mulkky and it is such a fun game! The second half of the week was a Templeman family reunion and it was so fun to have all my sisters together and enjoy each other's company. Natalie and Faith came home (to join up with Kenna) with Logan and Jordan - and they were here for a week.  Josh and I stayed in Sunriver and Jason and Jasmin came out to join us.  We had a really relaxing fun week.  We ate lots of yummy food and took only one photo but it was because we were busy doing stuff.  When we got back it was pear picking season and time for school to start!  It was a bit of a whirlwind after that. I think you've heard the story - A piñata was delivered to our house one evening.  Filled with candy and little stuffed bears asking if the girls could "bear" to go to Prom with the boys. I love how into this Faith is.  She's not even just waiting for her share of the candy! They answered by saying they'd be "lion" if they said they didn't want to go. Too cute. So the big day arrived.... The hair.   I did Hannah's.   Brynne did her own.  She's got  skillz . We bought these dresses from Amazon.  Can you believe it?   Hannah's was hemmed about a foot shorter by a nice lady in our ward.  I used hem tape to take Brynne's up a bit in front and I added a very light black liner to the top lace.  Turned out great.     And super modest - they didn't even need a cover up - BAZINGA!
