Relief Society President.   Yepper doodles.  Someone has a funny sense of humor.     I'm getting over the initial shock I think.   Although I had to teach my first lesson to GROWN-UPS today and I was petrified all week just thinking about it.  I also went to my first PEC meeting that the Bishop asked me to attend.  And met lots of ladies in Relief Society that I hadn't met before.  So that was interesting and kind of fun.  And now I don't have to teach for about four months.     I read a great quote this week from Bonnie D. Parkin that talked about how covenant keeping "coaxes us out of our comfort zones" and this calling is for sure going to do that for me.  However, what I recognized within minutes of the Bishop extending the call is that in some ways it is an answer to a silent prayer I've been offering up for months - to be able to get to know the sisters in my ward and form some relationships!  I've str...

For Hannah's graduation present we took her on a Jones trip to Prague, Czech Republic; which is also known as the Paris of Eastern Europe or the City of a Hundred Spires.   I didn't do much research going in and didn't know what to expect.  I mean, it used to be behind the Iron Curtain, right? So here are some of my impressions. *Prague has a lot of graffiti, but other than that it was a very clean city.  We hardly ever saw trash on the street. *The city center has a lot of older buildings - many built in the early 1900s.  Since Prague was lucky enough to escape bombing during WWII those buildings are still standing.  There are older buildings - we saw some built as far back as 900AD.  And the city's "castle" complex was built over the course of several hundred years from 1300AD (including the 700 years old Charles Bridge) and on.  So there wasn't necessarily the full on thousand year old buildings that I was expecting, but there were definitely OL...

It seemed like it took forever for school to end this year.  Maybe it was because there was a rush of busyness in the beginning and middle of May that felt like the end was nigh, and then it sort of calmed down for awhile.  The last week of school, in spite of graduation approaching, was fairly relaxing because the Seniors had no school so Hannah was home quite a bit. Activity Days had an activity.  There are 30 active girls in the 8-11 age group.  When we had a variety show to which their parents were invited, there were well over 100 people there.  So fun!
